Started as a pop-up shop at Birmingham, Alabama’s Pepper Place Farmer’s Market, Hero Doughnuts and buns is the evolution of founder Wil Drake’s efforts to bring authentic, brioche-style doughnuts with creative and classic flavor combinations to everyone. Doughnuts are much more than a quick breakfast item—they evoke nostalgia, spark joy and create happy memories. There are now multiple locations of Hero Doughnuts and Buns in Birmingham and Atlanta with plans for expansion to Charleston, SC. And beyond. The menu includes breakfast, burgers and lunch sandwiches made with house-made, fresh brioche buns as well as full breakfast plates and salads. We offer squeezed to order orange juice, Domestique drip coffee as well as Nitro Cold Brew and Draft Lattes. Fun adult beverages—beer, wine, mimosas, spiked lattes and other brunchy drinks are offered as well! Job Summary

The purpose of this job is to set-up, organize, prepare and plate food orders for the guests according to the plating procedures and within ticket time standards; to maintain quality control, kitchen and food storage and Health Department guidelines and restock and clean up.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Sets up, stocks and organizes all work stations at the beginning of the day.
  2. Prepares menu items, paying attention to plate presentation and garnish of each plate and supervises the cooking of all food itmes to ensure proper delivery of service.
  3. Uses knives, measuring ladles, scoops, scales, can opener, mixer and other tools or utensils.
  4. Cuts and prepares food items. Portions food items and stores them in proper containers.
  5. Prepares grilled, baked and fried items using recipes. Uses pan, stock pots, grill, stove, ovens and fryers.
  6. Cleans and sanitizes line station and equipment during the day and at the end of the day.
  7. Maintains proper food storage temperatures and rotation using FIFO Method.
  8. Handles multiple priorities, and works well under stress
  9. Correctly set up, operates, breaks down and cleans all station equipment.
  10. Follows sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of Kitchen are.
  11. Comprehends all production sheets and tools as they pertain to the line department and can use them in daily operations as well as training situations.
  12. Complies with all health and safety regulations.
